SUMMARY OF THE EVENT: On July 5, a CME was en route to Earth (source: www.spaceweather.com). As a consequence, minor disturbances were observed in the Earth ionosphere above Europe the 6th of July 2012 with an increase of TEC during the day.

Figure 1 shows the time evolution of the Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) (in red) extracted from the near-real time VTEC maps at 3 different latitudes (Figure 2): a) Northern part (top), b) Brussels (middle) and c) Southern part (bottom).
